Findings reveal hypoattenuating lesions in both cerebral hemispheres, more so on the left, with scattered areas of hemorrhage. Severe edema and mass effect is seen, with midline shift to the right.
Cortical Necrosis with hemorrhage and edema due to hypernatremia.
Discusion:
Severe iatrogenic hyper Na+ most likely induce a cascade of metabolic changes resulting in an acute edema , cellular metabolic breakdown and delayed apoptotic effect.
