CASE 65 : MRI Neck

70F, with painless lump left cheek x 10 Yrs

 

 

Findings reveal a bilobed mass lesion, solid in consistency, arising from the deep lobe of the left parotid and extending medially towards the parapharyngeal spaces. It compresses base of tongue and oropharyngeal airway on the same side. 

DIAGNOSIS

Pleomorphoc Adenoma of the Parotid Gland

RADPEARLS

Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common salivary gland neoplasm, accounting for 63% of all parotid gland tumours

Generally considered to be a benign tumour 

T1 hypo T2 hyper, with fairly homogenous enhancement on T1C
