DIAGNOSIS

Cystic mass lesion involving sellar and suprasellar lesion.

Craniopharyngioma

PEARLS

Relatively benign lesions, arising in sellar and supra sellar region

2 age peaks - 10-15 years (adamantinomatous type) and middle aged (papillary type)

Craniopharyngiomas are believed to derive from Rathke clefts

Adamantinomatous lesions are usually cystic bilobed, contour, unlike papillary type that are more solid. 

Enhance vividly on contrast MR

May show calcification
